Carrie Underwood has announced when she's going to release the follow-up to her 2009 CD "Play On". The country/pop singer is set to drop her next studio installment, which is produced by Mark Bright, across the United States on May 1.

The first official offering from the album is titled "Good Girl", which is going to be launched on radio on February 23. "It's upbeat, it's fun, you stomp your feet, and you can dance to it. It's got this really rockin' verse, and this really, like, rockin' country chorus," Underwood teased.

The single was co-written by Underwood, Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley. "We had a blast writing it," the singer recalled. "We went into the writing session thinking we need to write something that just kicks butt."
