Claiming that there are more revelations to come, the show's executive producer says they are using 'this device a little bit to set the stage for a bigger story.'

AceShowbiz - The latest twist on "How I Met Your Mother" will be unraveled soon. After the November 21 episode left viewers with a cliffhanger as [SPOILER ALERT!] Robin says she is pregnant, executive producer Carter Bays says that people's curiousity about the baby's father will be "settled pretty quickly."

Robin's pregnancy, according to Bays, is just a small part of a bigger story that would come on the CBS sitcom. "I would say the wheels of fate are not done turning for these characters, and it's definitely a big surprise, but there's more to come," he gushes. "This little story isn't over yet. I almost feel weird commenting on anything just yet because there are more revelations in store."

"New questions will arise and I feel like, this story, we are using this device a little bit to set the stage for a bigger story that is setting up the events of the rest of the series which, I guess we do a lot. It's a pretty tumultuous show. This in particular is going to lead to kind of a reshuffling of the group. Not necessarily in this next episode, but this episode will set things in motion for that," Bays goes on explaining.

Some of the "revelations" to come include a wedding, a death, a delivery and the identity of the titular mama. According to TVLine, all of those will be addressed after Becki Newton arrives as Quinn, Barney's new love interest.

"We can't give any details on her character just yet, except that she marries Barney before getting eaten by a crocodile in the shocking season finale right after Ted meets the mother and Lily gives birth to a baby boy weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz. And that's all we can reveal at this time," Bays spills the beans on Quinn.

Newton will first appear in a January episode and recur throughout the currently airing season 7 of the comedy series.
