AceShowbiz - Chelsea Handler has prolonged her partnership with E!. The comedienne has signed a new two-year deal to stay with the network, where she will continue serving as the executive producer and host of "Chelsea Lately" through 2014.
As part of the deal, Handler will also develop and produce shows for E! and NBCUniversal via her production company, Borderline Amazing Productions. The 36-year-old has been starring and executive producing "After Lately" which airs on E!, and will have her new comedy series "Are You There, Chelsea?" premiering on NBC in 2012 midseason.
Staying true to her humorous style, Handler commented on her new deal with E!, "It's a great time for women in comedy, and it's a great time to have real breasts." Meanwhile, Suzanne Kolb, President of E!, stated, "Chelsea is an extraordinary talent whose smart, clever, no-holds-barred point of view has clearly been embraced by viewers."
Kolb added, "We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Chelsea as we build on the success of 'Chelsea Lately,' which has become the late night destination for young adults, and collaborate with Borderline Amazing Productions on developing even more hit shows."
"Chelsea Lately", which launched in 2007, reigns over other late-night talk shows in the women 18 to 34 demographic. It recently delivered its highest rated and most-watched telecast ever on October 10, averaging nearly 1.8 million total viewers.
