The first trailer for director Steve McQueen's provocative drama "Shame" has landed online. Showcasing a gorgeous cinematography by Sean Bobbitt, this promo video centers on Michael Fassbender's sex addict character whose personal and professional life begin to spiral out of control.
The trailer, which is made for the U.K. public, gives a preview of how Fassbender's Brandon spends his time working hard and wooing women. It also offers a look at his relationship with his sister, Carey Mulligan's Sissy. At one point, Brandon is heard telling Sissy, "You're a weight on me, you're a burden."
To be released in limited U.S. theaters on December 2, "Shame" revolves around Brandon, a 30-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life. After his wayward younger sister Sissy moves into his apartment, Brandon's world spirals out of control.
Fassbender received the Best Actor Award at 2011 Venice Film Festival through his role in this drama. In addition to Carey, he is also joined by James Badge Dale and Nicole Beharie in the cast ensemble.
