20th Century Fox has debuted the official first look at an ape in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes". The four-second clip, released via the film's official Facebook as well as its official site, offers a glimpse at the result of WETA's visual effect work.

In addition to the clip, Fox also announces that WETA will issue an exclusive behind the scenes video for the movie on April 13, at 02:30 P.M. PDT from WETA's headquarters in Wellington, New Zealand. The video will be released via Avatar's official Facebook page.

Set in present day San Francisco, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

Coming from director Rupert Wyatt, the movie will feature the likes of James Franco, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, and Tom Felton. Written by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Jamie Moss, the film will make its way out in U.S. theaters on August 5.
