The irony on "The Vampire Diaries" is: while Sheriff Liz Forbes is hunting for fanged-creatures, one is living right under her nose. But the Sheriff would be smacked with the hard cold reality when her daughter bites one of her officers in front of her.
Also in the episode, Tyler learns more about the Lockwood family curse from Mason. Stefan and Damon argue over how to handle Mason. Elena tries to keep Jeremy from becoming more involved with the Lockwood mystery, but Jeremy makes an effort to hang out with Tyler. Mason gives Sheriff Forbes some startling information, leading to a night of violence, confession and heartbreak.
"We're really going to get into Caroline's relationship with herself and her relationship with her mother," Candice Accola aka Caroline said. "That'll take precedence before new boys. All of Season 1, the biggest thing consuming Caroline's life was whether she had a boy to love her, and whether her friends love her. In her breakup with Matt she realizes that she has to love herself."
