"Machete" is going to be filled with a lot of gory footage and it has been highlighted in an age-restricted TV spot. During the whole 30 seconds, the video features bloody action scenes involving different characters such as Danny Trejo's Machete, Jessica Alba's Sartana and Robert De Niro's McLaughlin. A glimpse of racy footage is also inserted when a nude woman attacks a man.
Machete is a Mexican ex-Federal agent with a gift for wielding a blade, who roams the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez. Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz to assassinate McLaughlin a corrupt Senator.
Double crossed and on the run, Machete braves the odds with the help of saucy taco slinger Luz, his "holy" brother Padre, and a socialite named April with a penchant for guns, all while being tracked by Sartana, a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.
The film is based on the fake trailer in "Grindhouse" by Robert Rodriguez, who teams up with Ethan Maniquis to helm the upcoming action film. The all-star cast ensemble also includes the likes of Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal and Lindsay Lohan. This R-rated action thriller is slated to arrive in U.S. cinemas on September 3.
