The cast of Broadway's 'American Idiot' are now billed to take over the summer concert series slot which was supposed to be filled by the rapper.

AceShowbiz - Drake was in talks to perform at "Good Morning America" summer concert series on July 16, but the deal was never sealed. ABC decided to pass on the Canadian rapper after "NYPD told the city Parks Department that Parks' security plan wasn't up to snuff," the New York Daily News reported.

"We were interested in having Drake perform, but he was never officially booked," a spokesperson for ABC revealed. A representative for Drake also confirmed that there was a "booking in place," but declined to comment further on the details.

Just a month ago, Drake's free concert at New York's South Street Seaport was also shut down by police at the last minute after thousands of fans unexpectedly showed up and almost caused riot. The gig was supposed to celebrate his debut album "Thank Me Later" and also feature performances from Hanson.

Instead of having the Young Money rapper, now ABC gives the Friday slot to the cast of Broadway's "American Idiot". Previous performers at the free gig included Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys among others.
