AceShowbiz - A day after it was reported that Gary Coleman was in critical condition, the star has passed away on Friday, May 28. Learning his death, some fellow stars have expressed their sympathy. Janet Jackson who played alongside Gary on "Diff'rent Strokes" stated, "I'm at a loss for words upon learning of Gary Coleman's passing. I want to remember him as the fun, playful, adorable and affectionate man he was. He has left a lasting legacy. I know he is finally at peace."
Actor and comedian Tom Arnold remembered Gary as the person who cheered his adolescence, saying "He made my teen years funnier! Now I hope people will stop bullying him." Shannon Elizabeth also credited the late actor for his works, stating "RIP Gary Coleman. Diff'rent Strokes was a huge part of my childhood. My prayers are w/his family & friends-you'll truly be missed Gary..."
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian who is also shocked by Gary's death, tweeting "Oh wow Gary Coleman passed away! My prayers go out to his family." Ashton Kutcher also took to his Twitter to react to the sad news, writing "I will always be a fan!" Olivia Wilde then added, "Poor Gary Coleman. Hope it was painless."
Gary Coleman's death was confirmed by a spokeswoman for a Utah hospital where he was treated for a brain hemorrhage after a fall. Family members and close friends were at his side when life support was terminated at 2:05 P.M. ET, Janet Frank said.
Later, his wife Shannon Price released a statement which was read by her brother Shawn Price. "We are very grateful for all the wonderful support everyone has been extending to Gary's family," the note read. "Thousands of emails have poured in to the hospital. This has been so comforting to the family to know how beloved he still is."
Gary was rushed to hospital on Wednesday, May 26 and was conscious until Thursday morning, May 27. However, his condition worsened and he was in critical condition by the afternoon, leaving him unconscious and on life support. Further details on his death will be made public later, his wife said.
