'Modern Family' Gets Kevin Bacon at Golden Globes

Jesse Ferguson aka Mitchell managed to invite the actor who won an award that night to come and guest star, possibly as Claire's high school hookup.

AceShowbiz - "Modern Family" may not win the Best Comedy Series at the recent Golden Globes but it did not go home empty-handed. The ABC show has successfully proposed Kevin Bacon to guest star in the episode, E! Online quoted Jesse Ferguson who plays Mitchell as saying.

"Kevin Bacon just agreed to come on our show!" Ferguson gushed. "I just met him and I said, 'Come on our show,' and he said, 'I'm comin!' So I'm personally casting him as a guest star. We're going to have Judy Greer, Minnie Driver and then Kevin Bacon."

Better than the casting, Julie Bowen has a story already mapped out for Bacon. "There will have to be flashbacks to Claire's past. He can be her ex-boyfriend and we can make out," the actress who portrays Claire said. "I want the flashback to where we really get hot and heavy and dance to 'Footloose'. I remember the dance in the warehouse. I remember every minute of that movie." Bowen came upon the plot because it would be only fair since Greer is guest starring in the show as her on-screen husband's old flame.

"Modern Family" lost to "Glee" in the Best Comedy/Musical Series category. After the ceremony, the show held a set tour anyway and EW's Michael Ausiello who was in attendance said, "We'll learn more about Fisbo! Also, Gloria will get into a car wreck and Mitchell will offer her some free legal advice."
