Channing Tatum stars opposite Amanda Seyfried in this adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel about a soldier who falls for a conservative college student while he's on leave.

AceShowbiz - Romantic drama "Dear John" has just got its trailer released. Put out via Moviefone, this sneak peek offers first look at the two leading actors, Channing Tatum as he portrays young soldier-on-leave John Tyree, and Amanda Seyfried as she takes on idealistic college student Savannah Lynn Curtis.

On leave from the Army, John goes home and meets gorgeous but conservative college student Savannah. After John dives into deep ocean water in order to retrieve her fallen purse, he and Savannah are quick to become friends. When they get closer and closer to each other, they plan to wed. But, time and distance take a toll on their commitment to each other.

To be released in theaters across the U.S. on February 5, 2010, "Dear John" is a feature adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel of the same name. It is directed by Lasse Hallstrom, the Academy Award-nominated helmer for his 1999 "The Cider House Rules". Beside Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, the movie is supported also by Richard Jenkins who stars stars John's father.
