Movie

Catch glimpses of what kind of creepy disturbance a young middle class couple experiences in the middle of the night after they move into their new house.

AceShowbiz - The official trailer for "Paranormal Activity" has arrived. Coming out via Apple, this promotional video contains mostly audience reactions during the test screening of the low-budget horror film. Some creepy footage from the movie, exposing what should be expected, are included as well.

Shot for $11,000 over the period of one week, the movie follows a young, middle class couple after they move into a new house. What seems like a typical suburban 'starter' tract house turns to be a nightmare for the pair when they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night.

Starring Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat as the young couple, "Paranormal Activity" is directed by first time writer/director Oren Peli and is presented entirely as home video footage. The story is said to be inspired by Peli's own experiences with strange noises after moving into a new house.

It will kick off its run with limited midnight Fantastic Fest screenings on September 24 in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and Seattle. Then, it will receive its limited theatrical release on September 25 in Austin, TX; Durham, NC; Boulder, CO; Lincoln, NB; Orlando, FL; Seattle, WA; Ann Arbor, MI; Baton Rouge, LA; Columbus, OH; Madison, WI; Santa Cruz, CA; State College, PA; and Tucson, AZ.
