AceShowbiz - Celebrity socialite Nicole Richie "almost collapsed in grief" when she first learned about the sudden death of her ex-fiance DJ AM. An insider tells Star Magazine, the pregnant reality TV star "said she felt like her heart stopped for a few minutes," forcing her doctor to rush to her house to check on her condition.
"Adam was the one who got her to straighten up," a source chimes in when referring to how the late spinner helped Nicole giving up her addiction to drugs. "She never thought he'd come to this. She's horrified and regrets that she didn't reach out and help him."
Nicole Richie, who is expecting her second child with current living partner Joel Madden, dated DJ AM from 2003 to 2005. They once got engaged, but called it quits after only nine months. The pair briefly reconciled in 2006 before then splitting for good in May the same year.
