Amy Adams Talks About Getting Married, Pursuing the Wrong Types of Men

In an interview with Allure magazine, the actress says she is in no rush to wed actor fiance Darren Le Gallo because she has been very busy lately.

AceShowbiz - Movie beauty Amy Adams has been recruited as the cover model for the August issue of Allure magazine, to which she opens up about getting married and pursuing the wrong types of men. Despite being engaged to actor Darren Le Gallo since last year, Amy claims she is in no rush to start a family with Darren.

"We haven't even started with the date," she says. "I've been really busy, and I feel like a horrible fiancee that I haven't gotten swept up in the whole idea of a wedding. But I haven't." Contrary to her, Amy claims Darren can't wait to make their union official. "I think he was patient for the first nine months, but now that we have been engaged for a year, he's sort of, you know, 'This is going to happen, right?' " she reveals, adding "He understands I'm busy, but he's ready. He's much more ready for kids and stuff than I am."

In further interview with the publication, Amy makes a comparison of her life with that of Julie Powell, the role she portrays in upcoming biography-drama flick "Julie & Julia". She says, "Thirty was a big deal for me. It was the age where I reevaluated everything - how I approached life and how I thought about myself." She goes on recalling, "When I look at my 20s, or when I look at any period in my life, I think about how much time I've wasted trying to find the right man. It's like, if I could go back and do it again, I would have taken guitar lessons or something. I would have put my energy into something that paid off in the end, instead of trying to improve myself for men. Oh, the time and the energy, trying to impress somebody who was actually a big jerk, you know?"

"But the truth is, once you have a great man in your life, it allows you - or at least for me - to look at yourself and grow as an individual. And gosh, if I had known I was going to find this, my 20s would have been completely different," she tells Allure of the conclusion she draws from her younger years.

The August 2009 issue of Allure will be hitting newsstands next Tuesday, July 21. "Julie & Julia", in the meantime, is slated for August 7 U.S. release.
