Kris Allen has inked a record deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records to release his debut major-label album this fall.

AceShowbiz - Newly-crowned "American Idol" winner Kris Allen has officially signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records to release his debut major-label album this fall. "As exciting as the last few months have been, I'm really looking forward to what is next," so Kris says when responding to the just-signed deal.
"I'm very grateful to be working with Simon Fuller and his team at 19 Entertainment, along with Barry Weiss and Jive Records on my debut album," Kris explains more. "Everyone's been asking me what it's going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show -- definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can't wait to get started!"
Barry Weiss, chairman and CEO of the RCA/JIVE Label Group, also expresses the same excitement regarding the deal. Furthermore, he praises Kris as a super-talented musician, "Kris had a terrific run of memorable performances culminating with an incredible win. He's a super-talented singer and all-around gifted musician who has that rare common touch which will give him the ability to connect with the broadest possible audience. We're really excited to welcome him to the Jive family."
Prior to hitting studio for his solo debut effort, Kris has an Idol winning song called "No Boundaries". The single has been available for digital purchase one day after the Idol finale result show and peaked at number 11 on Billboard Hot 100.
Kris also has a bunch of tour dates for "American Idol" summer tour under his belt. Alongside the Top 10 Idol outcasts, he will kick it off at Rose Garden in Portland on July 5 and wrap it up at Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester on September 15.
