Jason Priestley: 'Zac Efron Is the New Jason Priestley'
Celebrity

"Zac Efron is the new Jason Priestley," says Jason Priestley when talking about the heartthrob status he earned for starring in "Beverly Hills, 90210".

Considered as a heartthrob when he portrayed the role of Brandon Walsh in TV series "Beverly Hills, 90210", Jason Priestley told "Valentine in the Morning" on L.A.'s 104.3 MYFM on Tuesday, April 28 that for the time being "Zac Efron is the new Jason Priestley." Singing his praise for the Disney star, Jason said Zac inherits most of his qualities, but Zac has "better abs than" he ever had.

When comparing his younger years in Hollywood film industry with Zac's period in the business, Jason frankly expressed his concern. "It's so different," he stated. "So much harsher now than it was for us. Brutal. The paparazzi that stalk these poor kids - and they're kids! You know what I mean?"

"My belief has always been it's about the work. The fame should always be a by product of quality work," he continued. "Don't get into this business with the hopes of becoming famous," he added when offering advice for younger stars. "If you get into this business with the sole purpose of becoming famous, you're going to find that fame is empty and hollow and you'll end up naked and strung out on the streets of downtown Los Angeles."

Acting aside, Jason Priestley and his wife Naomi Lowde currently are expecting their second child. No words on when their baby is due to be born though.
