Coming to Jonathan Ross' Friday night show on BBC to talk about his upcoming film "The Boat That Rocked", Rhys Ifans ended up revealing his involvement in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". The 40-year-old actor confirmed that he has been cast in the adaptation of "Harry Potter" seventh book.
During his appearance on the TV show, Ifans told Ross that a couple of weeks ago while he was filming "Mr. Nice" in Spain, he has been fitted for his costume in the latest installment of the "Harry Potter" series. While the Robert Reston of "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" did not mention which part he will be starring as, The Leaky Cauldron reported that he will be taking the role of Xenophilius "Xeno" Lovegood, who is known to be Luna Lovegood's father and the editor-in-chief of The Quibbler.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", the seventh and final book of "Harry Potter" series will be made into two movies, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II". Both of the movies will be once again directed by "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" helmer David Yates and will follow Potter as he searches for the scattered Horcrux in order to bring Lord Voldemort to his end for good. "Part I" is due for November 19, 2010 release in both U.S. and U.K., whereas "Part II" has been set for July 15, 2011 release.
Rhys Ifans is a BAFTA Award-nominated actor. He has appeared in multiple feature films, including "Notting Hill", "Little Nicky", "Danny Deckchair" and "Vanity Fair". He will next be seen starring opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman in "The Boat That Rocked". In the meantime, his announcement of the "Deathly Hallows" casting can be watched after the 5:55 mark.
