'I think it's healthier to have a new person do [each one],' 'Twilight' director Catherine Hardwicke insists, before expressing her support for 'New Moon' helmer Chris Weitz.

AceShowbiz - "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke has given out confirmation that she won't make a return to any future installment of the vampire drama saga. In an interview with MTV, the 53-year-old expressed on what she feels about the director changes done to "Twilight" follow-up movies, explaining, "I think it's healthier to have a new person do [each one]."

The "Thirteen" helmer, moreover, pointed out on the positive side of using different directors for a feature franchise, using successful "Harry Potter" series as the example. "I've loved all the different directors that did the 'Harry Potter' [films], because each one had their own cool style and energy, so I think that's good," she rationalized. "And I'm moving on to other projects."

About "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" director Chris Weitz, Hardwicke has nothing but good word, "Chris is doing 'New Moon,' and although I don't know him personally, I've heard he's really excited and just diving in. He's working as hard as he can to make it great, so that's cool." She also revealed her confidence that Weitz will be able to pull off the using of CG-technology for Bella's "New Moon" cliff dive, praising Weitz on his work in "The Golden Compass".

On the location shift from Portland, Oregon to Vancouver, though saying that it will "be a little bit of a challenge", the director who will team up with Summit Entertainment once more for "If I Stay" shared that "there are a lot of ways that we do that, movie tricks." "You can rebuild the whole house, and then maybe just go shoot a few wide shots in Portland," she said. "They might be doing something like that. Same thing with the high school and with the Cullen house. We're used to doing that in the movie business; we have to be tricky."
