Picked as Scientific and Technical Awards host by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Jessica Biel will present an Oscar statuette to Ed Catmull for his contribution to the film industry.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Biel has been tapped to host and present six kudos at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Scientific and Technical Awards on Saturday, February 7, at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. The announcement has been made by the Academy through a press release put forth on Tuesday, February 3.

With this appointment, the star of "The Illusionist" is joining Rachel McAdams, Scarlett Johansson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Garner and Jessica Alba as the show's host. During the ceremony, the 26-year-old is expected to present the Academy's Gordon E. Sawyer Award to Ed Catmull for his lifetime of technical contributions and leadership in the field of computer graphics for the film industry.

The Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation won't be televised. However, excerpts from the gala will be integrated into the 81st Annual Academy Awards ceremony, which will be aired live by the ABC Television Network on Sunday, February 22 from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The Academy Awards itself will be hosted by Hugh Jackman.
