A re-casting of 'Samantha Who?' has revealed that Billy Zane will take over the role of Funk from Timothy Olyphant.

It was reported earlier this month that there will be a re-casting on "Samantha Who?" for the role of Sam's ex, Funk, and apparently execs have found the new guy. If the character was previously known to be played by Timothy Olyphant, the role now belongs to Billy Zane.

EW's Michael Ausiello revealed sources confirmed to him, that producers of the show starring Christina Applegate as Samantha, have replaced Olyphant with the "Titanic" star. This was reasoned as a scheduling conflict because when it was decided that Funk is brought back on the script, Olyphant had already committed himself to FX's "Damages".

Zane's Funk will reportedly appear on the 15th episode of the second season which is tentatively titled "The Debt" and aired in February. In the episode, Samantha goes into serious debt when she's lured into playing craps at a casino and winds up losing $100,000.

Funk is the former lover of Samantha whose proposal of marriage was rejected by her in the first season.

"Samantha Who?" has received a Golden Globe nomination of Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series for Christina Applegate who also received a nomination at Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
