An update on the status of George O' Malley depicter, T.R. Knight, on 'Grey's Anatomy' points out that the actor himself asks for a written-off story.

AceShowbiz - It has been a matter of yes and no regarding the exit of T.R. Knight from ABC's hit series "Grey's Anatomy". After a representative of the show released a statement per Us Magazine, saying that the depicter of George O'Malley is not leaving, EW's Michael Ausiello reports that the actor is actually negotiating with the producers for an exit.

EW claimed that Knight is requesting for his character to be written out of the story and "a source close to the situation" said that the wish will most likely be granted. If the report were true then Knight will be released from his contract. "They're working out the details now," an ABC insider told EW.

Allegedly, his decision to end the stint in the medical drama series is due to the lack of development in the story of George. Shonda Rhimes and her team reportedly prefer to focus on Katherine Heigl's character Dr. Izzie Stevens' surreal relationship with her dead fiance, Denny Duquette and give little screen appearance for George.

However, contrary to the report by CrazyDaysAndNights.com, Knight has not stopped working on the show. A rep told Us Magazine, on Monday, December 8, "T.R. has never walked off set in the middle of filming. He attended the table read today and will be shooting this week, like any other week of production."
