Lil Wayne has welcomed his baby boy, whose imminent arrival he made public on-stage at the BET Hip-Hop Awards on Saturday, October 18. The infant, named Dwayne Carter III, was born Wednesday afternoon, October 22, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Wayne's representative confirms Dwayne's arrival to MTV News, yet provides no further details about the newborn baby. The identity of Dwayne's mother also isn't disclosed.
Dwayne is Wayne's second child. The rap star also fathers one daughter, named Reginae Carter, whom he has with his high school sweetheart Antonia "Toya" Johnson. He and Antonia married in 2004 and divorced two years later.
Wayne bagged three awards at the BET Hip-Hop Awards; MVP of the Year, Lyricist of the Year and Alltel Wireless People's Champ. During his acceptance speech on-stage, he announced, "I got a son about to be born any day now, so shout-out to him. Pray for me."
Personal life aside, Wayne is prepping for the release of his new album, the new version of his platinum LP "Tha Carter III".
