Universal lincese Miley Cyrus' latest album 'Breakout' for Europe, giving them full rights to distribute the album across the continent.

AceShowbiz - Universal have secured European license deal for Miley Cyrus' "Breakout" album from Disney Music Group. This then gives them full rights to release and promote the star's album across Europe.

The deal has been announced by Universal Music Group International executive vice president Max Hole on August 7. Speaking about the deal, Max says, "Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana is already a TV and music superstar around the world; her solo debut is off to a fantastic start in the US and we are thrilled to be working with Disney to build her solo recording career in Europe."

Besides that, the agreement will also reportedly strengthen the links between Universal and Disney. "We are delighted to further expand our relationship with Universal with Miley Cyrus. The phenomenon of Hannah Montana has been a fantastic platform to launch Miley's music career. Her ability to craft songs that touch both her fans and her fans' parents is a gift, which will enable her to have a long and successful career," said Disney chairman Bob Cavallo.

As previously reported, since it has been released on July 22, the album has reached selling mark in a total of 371,000 copies. It is then followed by another 163,000 copies in the second week.

Furthermore, Universal will start to release the album in Europe next week. Meanwhile, for U.K., the promotion will be done by Polydor Records on September 1.
