It looks like American Idol's seventh season winner David Cook is very keen to finish and release his new LP as soon as possible. Speaking to Billboard.com, the rocker stated that he has already started the recording process for the new album and hope to drop it in November.

In the interview David revealed that he is aiming to record about 20 tracks and so far he has already finished 7 songs. "I think we've for sure got seven songs. We're gonna try to get to around 20 I think, and work it out from there," David said.

The singer also stated that the writing process of his new songs has been great and satisfying for him saying, "I really just try to get into these creative processes with some different minds and see what happens, and so far the results have been great. I don't really feel like I've had a fruitless writing session yet."

Moreover, David also believes that his album will truly represent his character saying, "The music is rock and it's pretty undeniably me, which I'm pretty excited about." He also added that the new LP will have "some interesting twists and turns ... that will keep people interested."

Beside working on his upcoming LP, at the moment David is also busy with his tour with his fellow top ten idol's finalists. The tour itself has already started on July 1 at Glendale, Arizona and set to finish on September 13 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
