Another comic book series is going to get a big screen treatment. This time, it comes from Dark Horse comic book known as "The Goon". The Eric Powell's comic will be adapted into a CGI-animated movie by Dark Horse Entertainment, David Fincher and animation house Blur Studios.

The news has been broken out by Powell himself on Wednesday, July 2, through his official site. The creator has been signed to write the screenplay for the movie slated for 2010 release, while Fincher has been touted to produce.

Following the adventures of a muscle-bound brawler named Goon who considers himself to be the primary enforcer for the feared mobster Labrazio, "Goon" comic book series was firstly published in 1999 through Avatar Press but later ended up on Dark Horse Comics' lap. The stories have been described to be having a paranormal and comedic edge as they concern with ghosts, zombies, mad scientists and "skunk".
