Anne Hathaway's real estate developer boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was arrested Thursday, April 3 and charged with trying to pass a bad check.

AceShowbiz - The meltdown continues for real estate developer Raffaello Follieri, better known as the boyfriend of Hollywood famous movie star Anne Hathaway. Was sued last year for allegedly using up $1.3 million in business funds to cover his lavish lifestyle, he has once again found himself in another legal trouble, this time for allegedly trying to pass a bad check.

Raffaello was arrested Thursday, April 3 "for allegedly bouncing a real big check" he couldn't afford and as a consequence was charged with one misdemeanor count of issuing a bad check. The check was for around $250,000, says TMZ, which first reported the arrest.

According to press reports, Raffaello is believed to have written the check, but it was allegedly declined because he had insufficient funds in his account. He thus has to go to court to fight the charge. A court date has not yet been confirmed thus far.

Raffaello's lawyers reportedly are trying to sort out the problem and he is now out of police custody. Just keep it here for further updates on that matter.

Raffaello and Hathaway have been dating since 2005.
