Richie Sambora was arrested for DUI in Laguna Beach, California on Tuesday night, March 24. The Bon Jovi guitarist, according to various reports, was pulled over with 10-year-old daughter Ava Elizabeth in the car. Report on his DUI arrest was first reported by TMZ.

Officers first spotted Sambora's black Hummer driving erratically on the Pacific Coast Highway at roughly 10:52 P.M. Tuesday. They then, as Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Jason Kravetz confirmed to E! News, followed his SUV before at last pulling him over.

Sambora failed numerous field sobriety tests and was detained for DUI. He opted to take a blood test at the police station rather than blow into a breathalyzer. There's no indication of drugs though and his blood-alcohol level has yet to be released.

Was taken into custody just after 11 P.M., Sambora was briefly jailed and released from the station just after 4 A.M. Wednesday morning, March 26 on his own recognition. He was described by cops as being "very cooperative".

And while Sambora's representative has no comment on the star's arrest, authorities did confirm that there were three other passengers, one woman who's believed to be his girlfriend and two kids one of whom was his young daughter Ava, in his car at the time of his arrest.

Sambora's Tuesday DUI arrest occurred just nine months after his rehab treatment back in June 2007. He was reported at that time to have entered an undisclosed treatment facility in Los Angeles to "treat a currently unknown substance abuse problem."

Police sources say, following Sambora's arrest, the cops called Ava's mom Heather Locklear, who then authorized the woman in the car to drive her daughter home.

As for Sambora, he has not been charged with endangerment but the Laguna Beach P.D. is "actively investigating." He is due to appear at Harbor Superior Court in Newport Beach on May 7.
