It has been reported that the depicter of Sam Winchester in TV series 'Supernatural' Jared Padalecki has been in final negotiation to star in the horror remake 'Friday the 13th'.

AceShowbiz - The television star of paranormal drama "Supernatural" Jared Padalecki is said to be heading to star in Platinum Dunes' remake horror film "Friday the 13th". According to Hollywood Reporter, the 25-year-old actor has been in final talks to play in the Marcus Nispel-directed film.

The movie news site reported that the former co-star of Alexis Bledel in "Gilmore Girls" is going to play the lead character, a man who investigates the serial murder happened at Crystal Lake Camp. If indeed joining the cast, Padalecki will star alongside Odette Yustman in the movie co-produced by filmmaker Michael Bay.

Planned to be released on Friday, February 13, 2009, the New Line Cinema's film follows the iconic Jason Voorhees as he begins to kill a group of councilors as they prepare to reopen a camp for special need children. The script was written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Reportedly, the film will begin its shooting on April 21 in Austin, Texas.
