Jason Statham Back as Mercenary Driver in 'Transporter 3'

Rumored to be attached to the third installment of the action series 'The Transporter' earlier, the English actor has now agreed to once again play his famous character Frank Martin.

AceShowbiz - The action star in "The Transporter" Jason Statham is going to reprise his famous character Frank Martin, a mercenary driver who delivers packages without questions, in the third installment of the action feature film series "Transporter 3". According to Variety, the action man in "Crank" will be once again working together with his "Transporter" co-star Francois Berleand.

In the film, the 35-year-old English actor will also play alongside the actor in television series "Prison Break", Robert Knepper who also appeared in action film "Hitman". Additionally, in the third "Transporter" film, he will act under the direction of Olivier Megaton who has been reported to officially replace Louis Leterrier, the helmer of the action film's first two projects.

Expected to exceed the first two films which has collected more than $130 million, the film is set to be shot for 16 weeks in Russia and France. Further, it will still be produced by the film series' original producers Luc Besson and Steve Chasman and slated for 2009 release.
