American Idol graduate Ruben Studdard has filed a lawsuit against a Dallas based concert promoter for breach of contract. Peachez Inc., the name of the marketing company, may have to pay the singer a $ 45,000 compensation should he wins the case.

Although details and comments from both camps have not yet been released, TMZ.com who was the first to report, have acquired the legal document. It was filed in New York Supreme Court on Monday January 28.

Studdard was caught in similar situation in 2006 when he sued his former manager Ronald Edwards who was accused of manipulating his money. The singer who is currently without label, walked away with $500,000 when he won the case and Edwards was further fined $1.5 million.

On other news, the famously big singer who was once called a 'teddy bear', has lost almost 43.3 kilograms in preparation of his stage role. He was cast as Fats Domino in musical 'Ain't Misbehavin' that will take a tour across U.S.

On losing the weight he said, "I am working out now. I've started jogging last week, really just trying to build up my endurance because we're doing about eight shows a week. I have lost almost 100 pounds. A year and a half ago I weighed about 450 pounds, now I weigh 365. I still have a long way to go, I need to gear back up again."
