Britney Spears turned herself in to police station and will face two charges before October 25.

AceShowbiz -

On Monday night, Britney Spears turned herself in to a police station in Los Angeles. The troubled singer is now booked on two misdemeanor charges for hit-and-run accident that occurred in Van Nuys, California back in August and driving without valid license.

Britney who wore black mini skirt and leather jacket was seen entering the building at approximately 09:25 P.M. She spent around 30 minutes inside where she was fingerprinted and photographed before released without bail.

Los Angeles Police Department officer Mike Lopez released a statement, "At around 9:25 this evening, Ms. Spears turned herself in to the Van Nuys Jail for booking. This was by court order, which is common for a misdemeanor charge. She was fine, cooperative. She did her business and came out."

On choosing such an odd hour, Britney's lawyer Michael Flanagan explained that he went in to the station earlier asking the watch commander to change the scheduled 4 P.M. time to avoid "media circus".

Britney is due in court to face the charges on October 25.
