Fresh from the 32nd edition of Toronto Film Festival, serious drama "In the Valley of Elah" landed its Los Angeles premiere Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Hollywood's ArcLight Cinema with most cast members attending.

Lead female Charlize Theron arrived at the scene accompanied by long-time boyfriend Stuart Townsend, looking classic in black Christian Dior top. Joined the actress were co-stars James Franco, Wes Chatham, Frances Fisher, Jake McLaughlin, Jonathan Tucker, and Josh Brolin who took wife Diane Lane along for the occasion.

Director Paul Haggis was present as well with his wife, "Dallas" star Deborah Rennard, and son. Other famous name spotted was Clint Eastwood, whom Haggis initially approached to play the role of Hank Deerfield. Though the part was written for him, the actor-turned-director decided to turn it down since he didn't want to act in any more films.

Slated for a wide release on date 21 this month, "Elah" tells the story of a war veteran and his wife in search for their son, who has mysteriously gone missing upon returning from Iraq. Pic marked its world premiere at the 2007 Venice Film Festival where Haggis was treated to a ten-minute standing ovation during the screening.
