Jackie Chan is "recovering nicely" after injured himself on the set of his new movie, "The Forbidden Kingdom."

AceShowbiz -

Jackie Chan injured himself, but is now okay. The action movie star re-injured his back while filming his latest film project "The Forbidden Kingdom" in China last week.

In his Web blog, the martial arts expert said he aggravated an old back injury when shooting a scene that required him to throw someone upward for his first collaboration with Jet Li. He said the unfortunate caused him to be "in excruciating pain" when he woke up the next day, and "could barely get myself out of my bed."

"I had to walk down three steps and join Jet Li for one scene, and each time my feet hit the steps, pain shot through my back," Chan revealed further adding that the pain had persisted for at least two days.

Rumors are abuzz shortly thereafter that the injury would likely force the actor to quit making action movies. As a matter of fact, in a posting on his Website Monday August 27th, Chan said he is "recovering nicely."

"The Forbidden Kingdom," an action comedy flick, is about an American teen's fantasy journey to ancient China to rescue a mythological monkey king. It is slated for an April 18, 2008 release date.
