Already charting high in Europe and Asia, rock act Scorpions' 'Humanity Hour 1' will now hit U.S. stores with a 'global' message.

AceShowbiz - Waking up from their long sleep, hard rock act Scorpions prepares to release a concept album titled "Humanity Hour 1" in U.S.. With reputation of selling over 70 millions records worldwide, the band came out strong on the quality of people behind the panel and mic.

Hearing names behind the project is like a treat itself. Those help pushing this album are producer James Michael and songwriter slash producer Desmond Child known for his work with KISS, Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. "Desmond is a fabulous visionary who took us to musical levels we had never reached before," said lead guitarist Matthias Jabs. Providing voice in track 'The Cross' is The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan.

Current line-up Klaus Meine (vocals, guitar), Rudolf Schenker (guitars, backing vocals), Matthias Jabs (Lead Guitar), James Kottak (drums, backing vocals) and Pawel Maciwoda (bass) have been working on this project since late last year at several Los Angeles studios.

Called a concept album because the band combines their classic sound with modern vibe while having provocative and satirical lyrics in most of the tracks. "The new album will feature the great power-rock ballads, of course, but we have been and we remain a rock band, and people who go for hard but melodic songs will love this album," said Meine.

First single 'Humanity' just missed the chance to be theme song of Al Gore's Live Earth event. Talking about global awareness, it was first performed on March 24, 2007 at Brussels, Belgium. Meine continued, "At the same time, though, we are sending our fans a positive musical message, telling them not to let the insanity going on around us every day get them down."

The German outfit will jump to 'Humanity World Tour 2007/2008' on September 4 in Sault Ste. Marie, M.I. after taking Europe, Asia and South America first. "As exciting as it is to work on new songs in the studio, when it comes right down to it, we are a die-hard live performance band that really shifts into overdrive when we hit the stage," said Schenker with Meine adding, "Direct contact with our fans is our biggest source of inspiration." 'Humanity Hour 1' was released in Europe and Asia on May 14 but it will only reach U.S. on August 28 via New Door Records.
