Trying his hand at fantasy genre, Irish filmmaker John Moore has secured rights to make "The Book of Lost Things" based on John Connolly's bestselling book of the same name, Variety has reported.

Hit the book shelves last year, the original concerns on a twelve-year-old English boy who opens a portal to another world. Coming to a land of beasts and monsters, he must undertake a quest there to find his way back out.

Moore, a native of Dundalk, Ireland, went straight from directing commercials to make the $40 million "Behind Enemy Lines" (2001) which grossed over $91 million worldwide. Apart from "Things", he still has two other movies in development namely "Pilgrim" and "Material Breach" for Regency Enterprises and New Line Cinema, respectively.
