Paramount Pictures is gearing up the production of an action flick under the working title “Cloverfield”. So far, producer J.J. Abrams (Mission: Impossible 3) has found a director and writer but still searching for the right cast.

“Felicity” director Matt Reeves will take the role behind the camera in a story plot that is limited to “monster movie”. The project had been buried as a secret until Abrams revealed that the shooting will take set in New York using handheld cameras.

For this project, Abrams takes in long-time collaborator Drew Godard to pen the script but plot is also kept low.

Godard is the writer of several TV series such as Alias, Lost and Angel. Reeves meanwhile, only had one film credit in his pocket that is dated back in 1996, Gwyneth Paltrow and David Schwimmer's romantic comedy “The Pallbearer”.
