The Hollywood Reporter has brought in news informing that the Mexican-American filmmaker is engaged in talks to helm "The Jetsons", a live-action version of futuristic 1960s cartoon, for Warner Bros. Pictures. At the same time, he has also met Will Ferrell and Universal executive for a possibility to direct "Land of the Lost", which Ferrell is attached to star in.

Scheduled for a 2009 release, "Jetsons" has already had its latest draft penned by "Fanboys" scribe Adam Goldberg with Denise Di Novi and Donald De Line seating as producers. As for "Land", the project turns out to be an adaptation of the 1970s fantasy TV series created by Sid and Marty Krofft of which script have been entrusted to duo Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas to work on.
