Jeremy Thomas Locks Up
Movie

Oscar-winning producer Jeremy Thomas is setting up a biopic of Charles Darwin based on Randal Keynes' biography "Annie's Box."

Looks like "Evolution's Captain" will have a company in telling about the life of eminent English naturalist Charles Darwin as Oscar-winning producer Jeremy Thomas is on the track to develop a big screen adaptation of a biography written by Darwin's descendant Randal Keynes.

Titled "Annie's Box" just like the book's name, which has a subtitle of "Darwin, His Daughter and Human Evolution", the project, however, will focus on different aspect of Darwin's life from that depicted in "Captain." While the Chase Palmer-directed flick should center on the man's scientific explorations, "Box" is said to concern more about his private life, particularly on the death of his daughter Annie.

In bringing up the movie to the surface, Thomas has already appointed "The Core" helmer Jon Amiel to handle directing matters with John Collee penning the script. No names attached yet in the cast list, but there is a guess that Keynes' son Skandar Keynes, known for his role in "Chronicles of Narnia" series, will take a starring part as one of Darwin's children.
