Signing a second deal with Eidos after striking the first for "Hitman", Lionsgate is preparing to develop "Kane & Lynch", a big screen adaptation of Eidos Interactive's videogame of the same title.

The original version sees a mercenary named Kane who is forced to team up with schizophrenic Lynch in retrieving a stolen fortune that he has hidden. Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter have both agreed to produce with Howard Sun co-producing.

A subsidiary of Lions Gate Entertainment, Lionsgate is a Vancouver-based production-distributor company that is currently the largest and most successful independent film distributor-studio in North America. Its 2006 productions included "Saw III", "Crank", "See No Evil", and "Madea's Family Reunion."
