Random House Films will make a film adaptation of Ross Macdonald's crime novel "The Galton Case."

AceShowbiz -

Continuing its partnership with Focus Features, Random House, Inc has added one more project entitled "The Galton Case" under the wings of their Random House Films to be developed with Focus set to distribute.

Adapted from Ross Macdonald's crime novel of the same title published in 1959, the picture then lines up with "Reservation Road" to be the future film productions emerging from this joint venture. So far, there is no word yet on either cast or director included in the picture, not to mention production schedule.

Made known to public November last year, Random House Films is formed by the two companies with the aim to develop movies together also to co-finance and co-produce a number of feature films for theatrical release based on books published by Random House imprints. It has already been announced that "The Attack", an adaptation of the Yasmina Khadra's novel, will be the first production of this real deal.
