Fox Searchlight will produce a vigilante actioner entitled "Stephon's Corner" along with State Street Pictures.

Recently put "The Darjeeling Limited" under its wings, Fox Searchlight has already added one more project to be developed into the big screen. The studio has successfully reached a deal to obtain the script "Stephon's Corner" for State Street Pictures to produce and for partner George Tillman to direct.

Emerged from the creative mind of Pat Gilfillan, the picture is a vigilante actioner which concerns two single mothers who become close friends following the death of their children during useless acts of violence. Upon finding out that the judicial system fails them, the duo unanimously embarks on a killing spree through the underbelly of Chicago.

Took shape in 1994, Fox Searchlight is a film division of 20th Century Fox specializing in either producing or distributing offbeat, quirky fare. One of its latest releases, "Little Miss Sunshine", so far has scored more than $44 million in domestic market and has seated on the tenth rank of weekend box office list as of September 25, 2006.
