Following the trail of his fellow hip-hop music artists who shift into film feature, Houston-based rapper Mike Jones is working his way to make acting debut in a big screen project entitled "American Dream."

Set to bring out "Dream" to the surface in conjunction with Asylum Records and Warner Bros. Records, Jones has brought aboard producers Gregory Anderson and Keith Paschall along with director Derrick Dixon to help him developing the movie. The film itself will be the first from his newly established film production company of the same name.

Expected to wrap up the production by September 15 with taking locations in Houston, Texas, the flick chronicles Jones' true story from rags to riches, depicting his humble beginnings on the streets up to vast success in the rap music scene.

Also an owner of a Houston's nightclub called Club Iceage and a recording company, Ice Age Entertainment, Jones is currently in the process of putting the finishing touches on his sophomore album, "The American Dream." The follow-up of his last year's "Who Is Mike Jones?" which has gone Platinum, the LP is scheduled to hit the music stores in late November 2006.
