At last the date is set. Sony's Screen Gems has just announced that the third installment of Resident Evil franchise, "Resident Evil: Extinction" will come to theaters exactly on September 7, 2007. Still features major cast from the first sequel, "Resident Evil: Apocalypse", such as Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr, and Sienna Guillory, the movie also adds more stars like Ali Larter, Chris Egan, Ashanti, plus Iain Glen among others in the line-up.

Taking place in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutant zombies, "Resident Evil: Extinction" continues to follow the trails of Alice, played by Jovovich, as she joins a convoy of human survivors cutting through the Nevada desert on a long trek to Alaska while being hunted by the minions of the perpetually scheming Dr. Isaacs.

Apart from "Extinction", Screen Gems is also slated to launch two other big screen pictures, "Vacancy" and "Priest", earlier the same year. The former, a horror-thriller flick starred by Sarah Jessica Parker and Luke Wilson, is scheduled for an April 13 release while the latter, based on the popular Japanese comic, will come to the surface on August 17.
