Woody Allen failed to win battle over the right to edit six features

AceShowbiz - Previously dragged Jean Doumanian to court due to his objections to some of the edits she had conducted to his six films, Woody Allen sadly had to face the fact that he lost the case when New York judge stated that Doumanian still had the editing rights to the features on May 25.

The director had been particularly dissatisfied with her decision to replace certain words in the features instead of just bleeping them out, but Supreme Court Justice Bernard Fried decided to turn in favor on Doumanian, who argued that she preferred a word substitution as TV networks didn't really go for the bleep approach.

While there were no release of the Financial terms of the deal, the judge handling the case has said that Allen could refer the matter to Manhattan's state Supreme Court if he still had concerns over Doumanian's edit jobs from then on yet the man, representing by his lawyer Michael Zweig, hadn't decided yet whether to appeal. "We now respectfully disagree with Judge Fried's decision and believe that, in any case, any future effort by the producers to modify the films will not, in the long run, prove attractive or commercially viable," he remarked.
