Dimension Films has acquired the rights to the ABC series "Welcome Back, Kotter" which ran from 1975 to 1979. And hence the studio will soon turn the project into a feature film and has also set Ice Cube to produce and star in as well.

In the meantime, Tom Brady also has agreed to write the script and direct. With Matt Alvarez and Andrew Lazar give hand at producing alongside Cube, the drama flick is expected to start shooting in the fall.
