Before America
In this compelling 27-minute documentary, viewers are taken on an intimate journey that explores the complex narratives...
What begins as an attempt to reignite a strained marriage quickly descends into a desperate fight for survival in this harrowing psychological thriller. Jessie, played by Carla Gugino, and her husband Gerald, portrayed by Bruce Greenwood, retreat to a secluded lake house for a romantic getaway, but a dangerous bedroom game leaves Jessie handcuffed to the bed and utterly alone. As hours turn into days, her physical struggle against the restraints is matched only by the terrifying battle within her own mind, where buried traumas and haunting hallucinations begin to surface. Directed by Mike Flanagan, the film masterfully traps the audience alongside Jessie, crafting an atmosphere of claustrophobic dread where the greatest monsters are not in the room, but in the memories she can no longer suppress. With her sanity unraveling and hope fading, Jessie must confront the ghosts of her past to find a way out of her impossible present.
