In a world where Christmas spirit is measured by the bottom line, Mel Gibson portrays a weary and financially struggling Chris Cringle, whose North Pole workshop faces a military audit. The beloved holiday icon is now a government contractor, with his annual gift delivery serving as a subsidy to keep his operation afloat. However, his livelihood is threatened by a petulant and wealthy twelve-year-old boy who, after receiving a lump of coal, hires a ruthless hitman, played with chilling charisma by Walton Goggins, to assassinate Santa Claus. This darkly comedic action-thriller from directors Ian Nelms and Eshom Nelms blends festive folklore with gritty realism, as the jolly old elf must defend his home and his wife Ruth, portrayed by Marianne Jean-Baptiste, against a professional killer. "Fatman" delivers a wildly unconventional and surprisingly heartfelt collision of holiday cheer and hard-boiled suspense, asking what happens when a symbol of generosity is pushed to his breaking point.
