Nick Jonas & The Administration Biography

news-detailsNick Jonas is the youngest member of the Jonas Brothers. Before playing music with older brothers Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas, he pursued a solo career. He released a studio album "Nicholas Jonas" in December 2004, but put the solo career on hold after the Jonas band were signed to Columbia Records the next year.

He began dating her Disney co-star Miley Cyrus, the daughter of country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus, in June 2006. Miley claimed they fell in love with each other since their first meeting. However, their romance didn't last long as in December the next year, they decided to call it quits and remained good friends.

Nick focused on his band with Kevin and Nick and released four studio albums with them since 2006. In between that time, he starred in various Disney TV projects, ranging from a guest starring stint in Miley's "Hannah Montana" to the mouse house's Original Movie "Camp Rock" to reality short series "%Jonas Brothers: Living the Dreams%".

In 2009 when the Jonas band's first world tour was finished and Kevin was busy with his wedding preparation, Nick decided that it's a time for him to try something different. Then, he entered studio with a side project called The Administration, leading to a speculation that he quit the Jonas Brothers.

But, the three brothers were quick to shoot down the rumor. "The Jonas Brothers are NOT breaking up! Nick Jonas IS working on a side project called Nick Jonas & The Administration," they said in a joint statement. "We are ALL excited about this project AND what we are doing TOGETHER! We plan to make music together for as long as we can."

Later on, Nick explained more, "I talked to them both individually and from step one, I went to them and told them that the songs I wrote, stylistically, weren't exactly right for the Jonas Brothers sound. But I said, that with their blessing, I'd like to do this on my own."

While in the Jonas Brothers he played the drums and backing vocalist, Nick served as the frontman in the new band. Other members included producer John Field on bass, Michael Bland on drums and Tommy Barbarella on keyboard. Though guitarist David Ryan Harris played on the album, Sonny Thompson joined Nick and The Administration on tour.

They made their debut performance at Grammy Nominations Concert on December 2, 2009, and kicked off their first tour a month later. They also served as the house band for 2010 Critics' Choice Awards. Their debut album "Who I Am" was released in the U.S. on February 2, 2010.
