In Snowpiercer 2.05, "Smolder to Life," the train hurtles toward a frozen wasteland. The cold threatens to consume everything in its path, and the passengers must find a way to stay alive. Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) and Layton (Daveed Diggs) work together to try to find a way to survive the cold, but they are met with resistance from some of the passengers. Meanwhile, Ruth (Alison Wright) and Bess (Mickey Sumner) continue to search for their missing daughter, LJ (Annalise Basso). And in a flashback, we see how Melanie first met Wilford (Sean Bean).
