**The Equalizer 2** is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Richard Wenk. A sequel to the 2014 film The Equalizer, the film stars Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Melissa Leo, and Bill Pullman. In the film, Robert McCall (Washington) is a retired U.S. Marine and former DIA operative who has dedicated his life to helping those in need. However, when his friend, Susan Plummer (Leo), is murdered, he sets out to avenge her death. To do so, he must use his skills to uncover a vast conspiracy that threatens to unravel his quiet life. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 20, 2018.
